My Ultimate Summer Bucket List

30 Things To Do This Summer!

With summer's warmth finally here, I can't help but feel a surge of excitement and boundless possibilities! It's that time of year when the school year's out, carefree days stretch ahead, and the world becomes our playground. As a teenage girl looking to make the most of these upcoming summer months, I've created a summer bucket list that promises endless thrills and unforgettable moments. So, grab your sunglasses, dust off your flip-flops, and get ready to join me on a journey filled with laughter, new discoveries, and the freedom to be unapologetically ourselves. From late-night adventures to backyard bonfires, from heart-pounding thrills to soul-soothing spa days, this summer bucket list is a great example of the adrenaline and wonder that summer holds for us. So, get ready to create lifelong memories this summer with the help of my summer bucket list!

Go to a Drive-in Movie

There's just something so enchanting about the essence of drive-in movies. The crackle of the speakers, finding the perfect spot, and the shared experience of watching a film under a starry-night sky. A drive-in movie is an absolute must on my bucket list this summer. Picture this: cozying up in the bed of a truck or the trunk of a car with friends, snacking on popcorn, and soaking up all those summer vibes.

Have a Picnic

With the sun brightly shining and the warm breeze calling our names, a great way to enjoy the season is to have a picnic. Picnics just have such a cute, old-timey movie feel to them, and who doesn't want their movie-moment? Grab your picnic blanket, pack your favorite snacks, and have some fun outside!

Sleepover on Trampoline

Having a sleepover on a trampoline is something that has been on my bucket list since the VSCO trends in 2019. With blankets, fairy lights, snacks, friendship bracelets, and a cute movie on, your trampoline sleepover is bound to be an extraordinary adventure that you and your friends will be talking about for years to come.

Make Homemade Ice Cream

When the summer heat is at its peak, there's no better way to cool down and satisfy your sweet tooth than with a scoop of homemade ice cream. So, gather your favorite ingredients, and enjoy the journey of churning and freezing your ice cream! You could even create a flavor that doesn't exist yet!

Have a Lake Day

Where I live, there are lakes everywhere, and so many of my favorite summer memories are on the lake! There's just something so sweet about the sun shining down, the warm breeze, and the refreshing feeling of the lake. Being on a boat, tubing, blasting some fun music... I mean what else can you ask for? Personally, my summer is never complete without at least a few memorable lake days!

Dance in the Rain

Okay, what is summer without those main character moments? Instead of being upset about the dreariness and boringness of rainy days, make the most of them by putting on your favorite playlist, gathering your friends, and experiencing the exhilaration of dancing in the rain like no one's watching!

Karaoke Night

Hosting a karaoke night is an absolute must on my summer bucket list. Gather some friends, and create all those fun-filled memories filled with laughter, music, and so much fun. I love doing Taylor Swift karaoke and pulling out all the moves from her Reputation tour.

Night Swimming

A bit of adrenaline never hurt anyone! That's why I recommend going swimming at night. Sneaking out with your friends to go swimming in the late hours of the night is a thrilling experience, and you're only a teenager once, so why not? (Be safe though!)

Go Thrifting

Thrifting is so much fun! I love going into the store, never knowing exactly what I will find.  I almost always end up finding things that I never would have been looking for, but I end up loving! So, for that reason, thrifting is a must-do activity this summer!

Go to a Concert

Although I'm still really upset about my experience with Ticketmaster when I tried to buy Eras Tour tickets, I would love to go to a concert of some kind this summer! Concerts are so much fun, and watching live music that you enjoy is just a completely surreal experience.

Have a Bonfire

Having a bonfire with friends is so much fun! Making s'mores, roasting hot dogs, and just  listening to music and talking around the bonfire is a great summer activity that ensures a fun night!

Bake Cookies

Baking cookies is an activity you can never go wrong with. Whether you're a pro-baker or just a beginner, mixing the dough (and then eating it, of course) is so satisfying! So grab your apron, preheat the oven, and bake a batch of delicious cookies!

Go to a Waterpark

A trip to the waterpark is the ultimate recipe for summer excitement and memories. Honestly, it was probably my favorite thing that I did last summer. From the super tall waterslides to the relaxing lazy rivers, the waterpark offers something for everyone. So, pack your swimsuit, grab your sunscreen, and prepare for a day of total fun!

Get a Tan Tattoo

Personally, I don't burn during the summer, I just tan. So, I've wanted to attempt a tan tattoo for quite a while now. Tan tattoos offer a captivating and temporary way to express your individuality and allow you to experiment with different styles and patterns without the commitment of permanent ink.

Throw a REAL Party

Throwing a party takes the #1 spot on my bucket list. I have wanted to throw a real high-school party for ages. With the perfect venue, an electrifying playlist, and the company of hundreds of people, I want to throw a party that will be remembered for a lifetime.

Go to the Fair

I love the fair! I go with a group of friends every year, and it's always awesome! With its thrilling rides, challenging games, and delicious food, the fair always guarantees a fun time!

Make Homemade Pizza

Imagine the mouthwatering aroma of freshly baked pizza filling the air as you gather around the kitchen with your friends. Making homemade pizza isn't just about the taste, it's a fun and delicious experience that should definitely be on your bucket list!

Shopping Spree

A summer shopping spree is an absolute must for your bucket list, and here's why it's at the top of mine: It's an opportunity to express your style, discover new trends, and make awesome memories with friends! As you browse through vibrant boutiques and explore your favorite stores, you're sure to find pieces that perfectly reflect your personality and boost your confidence!

Get My Permit

So, I'm a little behind my friends because most of them have their licenses, and I still don't even have my permit. I hate the lack of freedom I have with driving, and so this summer, I plan on studying those traffic rules, acing my permit test, and unlocking tons of new possibilities!

Make Popsicles

Summer is here, and what better way to stay cool than making your own popsicles? It's a super fun activity that is definitely on my summer bucket list, and it should be on yours too! The flavor possibilities are endless, and they're always delicious!

Go Fruit Picking

Fruit picking is so much fun! I mean, imagine being in a sun-kissed orchard, surrounded by rows of trees brimming with ripe, colorful fruits just waiting to be picked! It's so relaxing, and also, who doesn't love fresh fruit?

Bake Sale/Lemonade Stand

Organize a bake sale or lemonade stand this summer! I do one every year, and it's a great way to make money, showcase your baking skills, and interact with neighbors! Get ready for a day of smiles, deliciousness, and positive interactions.

Spa Day

Plan a spa day for yourself or friends this summer! Create the relaxed feel of a spa from your own home with soothing music, scented candles, and luxurious skin products. Treat yourself to a refreshing facial, a relaxing bath, or a manicure- you deserve this moment of bliss!

Watch the Sunset

There's something truly enchanting about the beauty of the sunset. Make it a point this summer to soak in the mesmerizing colors of the sky, and feel the sense of peace and tranquility all around you!

Watch Fireworks

As Memorial Day and the 4th of July approach, get ready for the dazzling effect of fireworks! Every year, for the 4th of July, my family lights off fireworks in our yard! However, there are so many celebrations and parties you can attend this summer to see all the explosions of color and light.

Pool Party

Attending or hosting a pool party is a summer essential! The perfect summer playlist, the refreshing snacks, and the joy of splashing in the pool with friends make it an experience you won't want to miss.

Go to a Farmer's Market

Discover a world of fresh produce, cute jewelry, and delicious treats at your local farmer's market. Where I live, we usually have them on Saturday mornings. It's so fun to just go and look around, even if you don't find anything you love!

Go to an Amusement Park

Going to an amusement park is one of my favorite summer activities because of the exhilarating rides, adrenaline-pumping rollercoasters, and endless fun! Last summer, my friends and I went to Cedar Point, and it was a great time!

Build a Time Capsule

Every school year, I gather all the mementos from all the things I did that year and put them in a box. However, this summer I want to build a time capsule, which is similar, but instead of just putting it up in my closet, I'm going to bury it! To build a time capsule, gather your favorite photos, notes, and meaningful items from the summer, and then bury it! Years later, when you dig it up, you'll have something cool to look back on!

Decorate Bedroom

My room is just not my style anymore, and it didn't reflect who I am! If you're in the same situation as me, take some time this summer to redo your room, and fit your personality!

A summer bucket list is your passport to new experiences, cherished moments, and personal growth, so I hope mine gave you some ideas! From exploring farmer's markets and indulging in homemade pizza to dancing in the rain and attending awesome pool parties, each item on your list holds the promise of adventure and discovery. Remember that this summer is your time to shine and make the most of every moment. So, as you embark on your summer adventures, don't forget to take a deep breath, soak in the beauty around you, and enjoy summer while it lasts. I promise, if you waste your summer sitting inside all day, you'll regret it. I actually did that a few years ago, and I realized how I had completely wasted my summer. So, I'm speaking from experience when I say that your summer bucket list is more than just a list of activities, it's an invitation to create memories, forge connections, and make this summer one to remember. The world is yours, and summer is calling, so make the most of it!

XOXO,
Ally
